Summer Sparkle; jewels, jewels, jewels!

Summer time is my favourite season to layer and stack on as much jewellery as possible. I think it's because we expose more skin and I guess in turn have more of a canvas to work with! I have a few pieces I never take off; my engagement and wedding ring along with a gold St Christopher medal my mother gave me the day I headed off travelling a few years ago. I am regularly asked where it's from; you can get a St Christopher medal in any good jewellers, just to note, mine is a child's size so the disc is smaller than average.

Tasseled Ear Candy

Jewellery can change an outfit dramatically, if I'm ever shopping for an occasion it's always something I factor in when planning my look. Statement earrings are the easiest way to add drama to a dress that on it's own perhaps may lack a little lustre. Oversized, tasseled chandelier style earrings are everywhere this year, I recently wore an incredible fuchsia pair from Zara to a wedding with a black dress and they made my outfit. See my favourites below.

Fine Gold Layers

My favourite day time look is to layer thin gold chains, bracelets and stacking rings. Since I always have my medal as a base I like to add a shorter choker chain, I've linked one below from Asos. I then occasionally add a longer one too, I especially like this look with a low cut shirt or wrap top. Try and not have the three chains matching, try different chain links or beads to add to the look. I don't usually wear bracelets but when I do, I go for thin gold bangles or beaded bohemian vides such as the white gem stone bracelet linked below from Massimo Dutti. If you're going to wear earrings, a necklace and rings don't over do it by stacking your arms up too. Although it's about adding layers, with this trend less is still more. Fine gold hoops are my current obsession, I haven't taken them off in about 6 months. I buy mine for under €2 from Parfois as I don't worry about losing them then. I also wear smaller 9mm hoops in my second and third piercings up one ear only and love this look with my hair up especially. It's kind of boho but still looks pretty. Always opt for dainty over chunky with this look.

Statment Rings

Although my left hand is pretty well decorated as it is I do love to wear rings on my right. I have two I am currently rotating, one from Emma by Jane that's a rose quartz gemstone beauty and my love lock ring from Heavenly Necklaces, the closest thing I'll get to Cartier. Gems are in this season and by the looks of it the more the merrier. Tanned skin pairs beautifully with crystal stones so don't be afraid to step outside your comfort zone and mix and match them.

Jewellery is so personal and we all have different taste but I hope there's something for everyone here. As always please link me any pieces you love and think I'd adore too! Happy Sunday girls xx
